E. Remove the Torque Tube (Fig. 401)

(1) Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts to disconnect these components from their connected cranks on the torque tube (View A):
-standby input rod
-vernier control rod
-aft quadrant control rod
-trim and feel rod

Make marks to identify the installed positions of the lower crank, center crank, and upper crank on the torque tube.

(3)
Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts that hold the lower crank to the torque tube.

(4)
Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts that hold the center crank to the torque tube.

(5)
Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts that hold the upper crank to the torque tube.

(6)
Remove the bolts and washers that hold the upper bearing housing to the structure.

(7)
Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts and remove the lower bearing housing from the structure.
(8)
Pull the lower crank down and remove it from the torque tube.

(9)
Pull the lower bearing housing down and remove it from the torque tube.

(10)
Pull the torque tube down through the cranks and remove it from the airplane.
