(1) Make sure the rig pin R-5 is installed.

CAUTION: EXAMINE THE VERNIER CONTROL ROD AND BOLT, THE CLEVIS BOLT AND
_______ THE ROD END BOLT BEFORE THE INSTALLATION. THESE ARE DUAL LOAD PATH COMPONENTS. A FAILURE OF THESE PARTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
(2)
Examine the rudder PCU and the parts that hold it for worn areas (AMM 27-21-91/601).
(3)
Remove the rudder lock.

CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO INSTALL THE PCU
CAREFULLY AND DO THE PROCEDURE IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE.
DAMAGE TO THE VERNIER CONTROL ROD CAN OCCUR IF THE INSTRUCTIONS
ARE NOT FOLLOWED CORRECTLY.
(4)
Install the PCU (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the PCU in its position with the forward manifold on the beam assembly.
(b)
Install the bushing, clevis bolt, three washers and two nuts to attach the forward manifold.
