(b) Keep a record of the number of turns required to re-trim the airplane.
NOTE: During the initial rotation of the trim wheel, there
____ might be some freeplay. Do not count the turns until you remove the freeplay.

Make sure the number of turns of the stablizer trim wheel are in these limits:
(a)
AIRPLANES WITH THE ALUMINUM TAB PUSHRODS; The nose up or nose down turn is not more than one turn.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH THE TITANIUM TAB PUSHRODS; The nose up or nose down turn is not more than two turns.

If the number of turns of the stabilizer trim wheel is more than the limits, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Make sure the rigging of the elevator control pushrods, the input rod of the elevator power control unit and the output rod of the elevator feel and centering unit are correct.
(b)
If the rigging are satisfactory, do the task to adjust the elevator tab pushrods after the Elevator Power Off Flight Test.
(7)
Install the access panels for the tab rod and the stabilizers.

ELEVATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the elevator. The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The removal of the elevator
(2)
The installation of the replacement elevator.
B.
When it is necessary to balance the elevator, make sure you do a check of the elevator and the elevator tab part numbers. Refer to Chapter 51 of the Structural Repair Manual when you balance the elevator-elevator tab combination after the structural repairs or after you put on new paint.
C.
If you install a tab on the elevator during the elevator installation, make sure the number of elevator control tab adjust weights agrees with the tab data plate (Ref 27-31-31/401).
