CABLE TENSION MUST BE IN |10 POUNDS OF THE TABLE VALUES WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SYSTEM. ADJUST THE SYSTEM WHEN THE CABLE TENSION CHANGES MORE THAN |15 POUNDS FROM THE TABLE VALVES.
TO GET THAT CORRECT CABLE TENSION, LET THE AIRFRAME TEMPERATURE BECOME STABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE HOUR AT CONSTANT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE |5`.

Adjust the elevator control cables EA and EB and the pitch force transducers:
(a)
Install the rig pin E-5 in the elevator right aft quadrant. 1) Make sure you can move the rig pin freely. 2) If it is necessary, move the elevator surface by hand until
the rig pin holes align.
(b)
Install the rig pin E-1 in the elevator left forward quadrant. 1) Make sure you can move the rig pin freely.
(c)
Remove the shoulder bolt from the two control column quadrants.
(d)
Make sure the rig pins E-2 and E-3 move freely through the installation holes of the shoulder bolts (Fig. 504).
NOTE: The rig pins E2 and E3 installation holes are the same
____ holes that used for the shoulder bolts.
1) If it is necessary you may adjust the control cables EA and EB to there correct cable tension to help align rig pins as follows: a) Remove the bolts from the adjustable ends of the pitch
force tranducer. b) Use the turnbuckles to adjust the cable tension to the value for ambient temperature (Fig. 501). c) Check the neutral position and make sure the rig pins E-1, E-2, E-3, and E-5 move freely.
(e)
Make sure the tensions of cables EAR, EBR, EAL, and EBL are in the limit of +/- 10 pounds of the table value at the ambient temperature (Fig. 501).
(f)
If you install new cables EA and EB, then do these steps to stretch the cables: 1) Adjust the turnbuckles on the EA and EB cables to 300 |20
pounds. 2) Adjust the seals in the pressure bulkhead, if it is
necessary, to keep the cables straight. 3) Remove the rig pins E-1 and E-5. 4) Move the control column 25 times through full travel in the
two logitudinal directions.
5) Install the rig pin E-5 in the right aft quadrant. a) Make sure you can move the rig pin freely. b) If it is necessary, move the elevator surface by hand
until the rig pin holes align. 6) Install the rig pin E-1 in the left forward quadrant. a) Make sure you can move the rig pin freely. 7) Remove the shoulder bolt from the two control column quadrants.
