ú ú ú ú NOTE:____ If you install the same elevator that you removed, and no other adjustments to the elevator system have beenmade, then it is not necessary to adjust the elevator system.
ú  (a)  While you move the elevator trailing edge down, align the projected center of the elevator trailing edge with the indexmark within +/- 0.04 inch or less.
NOTE:____ Keep the elevators at this position while you do the step to measure the elevator tab position. If the elevator position is changed, you must put the elevator trailing edge at the full up position and do this step again before you continue.
 (b) (c)  Adjust the elevator tab to the same position recorded when the tab was removed. Use the single point method in the adjustment (AMM 27-31-00/501).If the elevator tab rods are aluminum and the ambient temperature has changed from the ambient temperature recorded in the removal, then rig position must be adjusted for the temperature difference. The tab rig position should be increased by 0.0073 inch for each 10 degree fahrenheit increase in temperature or decreased by 0.0073 inch for each 10 degree fahrenheit decrease in temperature.
A temperature adjustment is not needed for titanium rods.
NOTE:____ For example- elevator tab position "a" is measured and recorded as 0.332 inch at ambient temperature of 40 degrees fahrenheit. At the time the tab is to be rigged the ambient temperature is 70 degrees fahrenheit. With the temperature adjustment the tab control rods are rigged to a tab position of 0.310 inch (0.332 + (-0.0219)).
