TO GET THE CORRECT CABLE TENSION, MAKE SURE THE AIRFRAME TEMPERATURE IS STABLE (USE A TOLERANCE OF |5`F) FOR A MINIMUM OF 1 HOUR.
THE SYSTEM MUST BE ADJUSTED WHEN THE CABLE LOADS ARE MORE THAN |15 LBS FROM THE TABLE VALUES. WHEN RIGGING THE SYSTEM, CABLE LOADS SHOULD BE |5 LBS FROM THE TABLE VALUES.
THE SYSTEM MUST BE ADJUSTED WHEN THE CABLE LOADS ARE MORE THAN |20 LBS FROM THE TABLE VALUES. WHEN RIGGING THE SYSTEM, CABLE LOADS SHOULD BE |15 LBS FROM THE TABLE VALUES.
IF POSSIBLE, MAKE THE LAST CABLE ADJUSTMENTS WHEN THE TWO ENGINES ARE INSTALLED ON THE WING.

Adjust the aileron trim system:
(a)
Manually move the captain's and the first officer's control wheels to the neutral position.
(b)
Make sure you can easily install rig pin A/S-2 (Fig. 402).
1) If it is necessary, operate the trim switches and move the control wheel until you can easily install the rig pin.
(c)
Install rig pin A/S-2.
NOTE: The rig pin must stay in its hole to keep the trim
____ system at the center for the subsequent adjustment.
(d) With a clamp, attach the straightedge across the thumbrests of the captain's and the first officer's control wheels.

E. Procedure

(1)
Remove the aileron force limiter (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install temporary clamps at each left wing cable AA (11) and AB (13) pulley and bracket in the wheel well.
NOTE: The installation of the clamps keeps tension in the
____
cable runs.
(b)
Remove the turnbuckle clip locks.
(c)
Disconnect the turnbuckles on the left wing cables AA and AB.
(d)
Attach tags to identify the disconnected cable ends.
(e)
Remove the cables (11 and 13) from the cable quadrant on the left programmer (10).
(f)
Remove the bolt (2) that connects the input control rod (14) to the programmer input crank (9).
NOTE: The initial adjusted length of the input control rod
____
must not change.
(g)
Disconnect the force limiter (1) from the left and right aileron programmers (18 and 22).
