D. Install the Aileron Position Transmitter

(1)
Assemble the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Put the transmitter into the bracket until the inner clamping screw can engage the circumferential groove on the transmitter. 1) Install the transmitter clamping screws.
a) Do not tighten the screw.
(b)
Turn the transmitter until E|Z (electrical zero) index mark on the transmitter housing align with the centerline of the rig pin holes.
(c)
Lightly tighten the transmitter clamping screws.
(d)
Put the transmitter shaft into the crank until the shaft clamping screw can engage circumferential groove on the shaft.
(e)
Install the shaft clamping screw, washer, and nut. 1) Do not tighten the nut.
(f)
Align the index mark on the shaft with the centerline of the rig pin slot in the crank.
(g)
Tighten the shaft clamping screw to 5-10 pound-inches.

Install the transmitter assembly:
(a)
Set the transmitter, the bracket, and the crank assembly on the airplane. 1) Install two screws, washers, and nuts that attach the
bracket to the airplane structure. a) Tighten the nuts to 20-30 pound-inches.
(b)
Install the screw, washer, and nut that attach the control rod to the crank. 1) Tighten the nut to 5-10 pound-inches.

Install the bonding jumper.

Install the electrical connector.

Adjust the Aileron Position Transmitter
(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6, Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6J21, SPLR/ALRN IND
2) 6J20, SPLR/ALRN SENSOR
(3)
Make sure that the ailerons are in the neutral position.

NOTE: You may have to adjust the control rod to install the rig

Adjust the aileron position transmitter:
(a)
Loosen the transmitter clamping screws.
(b)
For the outboard aileron, adjust the transmitter body.
