Make sure the rudder system moves freely.
(b)
Make sure the aft quadrant touches the stops.

WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE NOSE WHEELS POINT FORWARD. IF THE NOSE WHEELS DO NOT POINT FORWARD, THE NOSE GEAR CAN QUICKLY TURN TO THE CENTERED POSITION WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TOW PIN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(9) Remove the TOW PIN from the nose landing gear (Ref 09-11-00/201).

RUDDER AFT QUADRANT - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure has one task. The task is an inspection of the rudder aft quadrant.
B. In this procedure you measure the inner or outer diameter of the parts which attach the rudder aft quadrant to the feel and centering mechanism. The parts include bearings, bolts, output clevis and the quadrant.

Do this task: "Rudder Aft Quandrant Removal" (Ref 27-21-08/401).

Measure the parts for worn areas:
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the parts.
