 Make sure the upper and the lower rudders do not move more than 0.06 inch when you extend the servo units for the rudder ratio changers.

 (a)  
If a rudder moves more than 0.06 inch, adjust the input to the applicable rudder ratio changer (AMM 27-21-12/501).

 If procedure 1 was used to extend the actuator, push the LSK that is adjacent to END TEST> on the CDU.

 (13) Adjust the stops for the aft quadrant:
 (a)  Remove the rig pin R-4.
 (b)  Make sure the servo units for the two rudder ratio changers are
 in the retracted position.
 NOTE:____ The servo units are in the retracted position when the
 length between the centers of the attachment bolts is
 5.202-5.212 inches.
 (c)  Loosen the checknuts on the adjustment bolts on the stops.

 CAUTION:_______MOVE THE RUDDER PEDALS SLOWLY AND SMOOTHLY. THE MINIMUM TIME TO MOVE THE RUDDER THROUGH A FULL CYCLE IS 8 SECONDS. IF YOU MOVE THE RUDDER TOO QUICKLY, THE POWER CONTROL PACKAGES CAN BE DAMAGED.
 (d)  
Push the captain's left rudder pedal forward to the forward quadrant stop.

 (e)  
Adjust the upper adjustment bolt: 1) Decrease the length of the bolt a small distance. 2) If the lower rudder moves, continue to decrease the length


 of the bolt until the rudder stops. 3) Continue to decrease the length of the bolt to see if the upper rudder moves. 4) If the upper rudder does not move, increase the length of the bolt until the lower rudder starts to move. 5) Turn the bolt 30 to 60 degrees to decrease the length of the bolt.
 6)  If the upper rudder moves, decrease the length of the bolt until the upper rudder stops. a) Increase the length of the bolt until the upper rudder
 starts to move. b) Turn the bolt 30 to 60 degrees to decrease the length of the bolt. 7) Tighten the checknut on the bolt.
 (f)  
Push the captain's right rudder pedal forward to the forward quadrant stop.

 (g)  
Adjust the lower adjustment bolt the same as the upper adjustment bolt.

 (h)  
Release the captain's rudder pedal.

 (i)  
Install the rig pin R-4.

 Make sure the trailing edge of the lower rudder is in the width of the rudder index tab.

 (a)  
If the lower rudder is not in the width of the index tab, adjust the input rod of the lower rudder ratio changer (AMM 27-21-00/501).

 (16) Make sure the trailing edge of the upper rudder aligns with the trailing edge of the lower rudder in the limit of 0.20 inch.
 NOTE: Make sure the lower does not move from the neutral position.
