Do this task if you install used bolts: "Outboard Aileron Inspection/Check" (AMM 27-11-02/601).

Do this check to make sure the structural attach points are not out of tolerance: "Outboard Aileron Inspection/Check" (AMM 27-11-02/601).

Install the support linkage (Fig. 401):
(a)
Set the actuator link (3) at the link support fitting lug (View A-A, Fig. 401).
(b)
Install the special bolt (6) with washer (7) below the bolt head through the actuator link (3) and link support fitting .
(c)
Install the washer (8) at the end of the bolt
NOTE: The 0.050 inch clearance between the flange bushing and
____ the special washer shown in View A-A, Fig. 401 is a designed (implied) clearance given for reference use only.
(d)
Use a reaction link wrench and a 1-inch square drive wrench to hold the bolt (6).
(e)
Tighten the nut (5) to 3200-3600 pound-inches with a spanner wrench while you hold the bolt (6).
(f)
Set the actuator link (4) at the link support fitting.
(g)
Install the special bolt (6) on the actuator link (4).
(h)
Connect the links (3 and 4) to the aileron (Section B-B).
(i)
Install the bolts (11).
(j)
Tighten the nuts (10) to 500-650 pound-inches.
(k)
Install the cotter pins.
(l)
Connect the lower strut assembly (2) to the link support fitting and the fitting on the actuator link (4) (Sections E-E and F-F).
(m)
Tighten the nuts (21 and 22) to 370-610 pound-inches.
(n)
Connect the upper strut assembly (1) to the link support fitting and the fitting on actuator link (3) (Sections C-C and D-D).
(o)
Tighten the nuts (13 and 17) to 130-180 pound-inches.
(p)
Install castellation nut at one end or at both ends of torque drive linkage if you have removed it (AMM 27-11-13/201).
NOTE: Tighten nuts within torque range of 25 to 35 foot
____ pounds. Tighten nuts to a maximum of 50 foot pounds to adjust for cotter pin installation. After cotter pin installation, back off nut until cotter pin bottoms out in slots of castellations.
