Tighten the turnbuckles with your hand.

 (c)  
Remove the clamps that you put on the cables in the removal procedure.

 (d)  
Adjust the turnbuckles equally to put a tension of 250 -20 pounds on cables RA and RB (Fig. 402).

 (e)  
Remove rig pins R-1, R-2, R-3, and R-4.

 (f)  
Move the rudder pedals through 25 cycles.

 (g)  
Install rig pins R-3 and R-4.

 (h)  
Equally adjust the two turnbuckles to get the tension shown in Fig. 402 in cables RA and RB.

 (i)  
Make sure rig pins R-3 and R-4 can be easily removed and installed.

 (j)  
Remove rig pins R-3 and R-4.

 (k)  
Move the rudder pedals through one cycle.

 (l)  
Make sure the tension in the cables, RA and RB, is correct.

 (m)  
Install the locking clips on the turnbuckles.

 (n)  
Apply a thin layer of corrosion preventive compound to the threads that you can see.

 (a)  
Make sure the rudder pedals move smoothly.

 (b)  
Make sure the rudder aft quadrant moves through its full travel.


 NOTE: The aft rudder quadrant moves through its full travel if
____ it touches the stop at each end of its travel.

Find the switches for the FLT COLTROL HYD POWER on the Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

 (a)  
Put the TAIL switches in the NORM position.

 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS POINTED FORWARD. IF THE TIRES ARE NOT PARALLEL WITH THE AIRPLANE, THEY CAN TURN QUICKLY WHEN YOU REMOVE THE RIG PIN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  
Remove the rig pin from the steering metering valve for the nose landing gear (Ref 32-50-00/201).

 (5)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 RUDDER FORWARD QUADRANT - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has one task. The task is an inspection of the rudder forward quadrant.
 B.  In this procedure you measure the inner or outer diameter of the parts which attach the rudder forward quadrant to the captain's rudder pedal yoke. The parts include bearings and bolts.
 C.  You must disassemble the rudder formard quadrant to do this procedure.

Micrometer - 0-1 inch and 1-2 inch
