Install the rig pin R-1, or R-2, in the rudder pedal arms.

 (c)  
If you cannot install the attachment bolts freely, do these steps to adjust the length of the pushrods: 1) Loosen the checknuts on the pushrods. 2) Adjust the lengths of the pushrods until you can install

 the attachment bolts freely. 3) Make sure you can see the rod ends of the pushrods through the inspection holes in the pushrods. 4) Tighten the checknuts on the pushrods.

 (d)  
Connect the quadrant pushrods to the rudder pedal arms and tighten the attachment bolts and nuts. 1) Torque the nut to 110-150 inch-pounds. 2) AIRPLANES WITH BOLTS AND NUTS THAT REQUIRE COTTER PINS;


 Install the cotter pins on the bolts.

 Remove these rig pins: R-1, R-2, and R-3.

 Connect the brake pushrods to the bellcranks with these steps.

 (a)  
Install the rig pins B-1 and B-2.

 (b)  
Make sure you can install the attachment bolts through the pushrods and bellcranks freely.

 (c)  
If you cannot install the attachment bolts freely, adjust the lengths of the brake pushrods.

 (d)  
Connect the brake pushrods to the bellcranks, and tighten the attachment bolts.

 (e)  
Remove the rig pins B-1 and B-2.

 Install the rudder pedal covers and guards (Fig. 402).

 (a)  
Align the upper rudder pedal cover with the heel rest, and install the screws.

 (b)  
Install the rudder pedal cover guard.

 (c)  
Install the forward two-piece guard.

 Make sure the rudder pedals operate smoothly during the range of travel between the stops on the forward quadrant.

 Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the rudder pedals and the air conditioning ducts.

 (a)  
Use the adjustment crank to move the rudder pedals to their fully forward position.

 (b)  
Push the left rudder pedal fully forward and apply the brakes.

 (c)  
Make sure the clearance between the rudder pedal and the air conditioning duct is not less than 0.50 inch.

Push the right rudder pedal fully forward and apply the brakes.

 (e)  
Make sure the clearance between the rudder pedal and the air conditioning duct is not less than 0.50 inch.

 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS POINTED FORWARD. IF THE TIRES ARE NOT PARALLEL WITH THE AIRPLANE, THEY CAN TURN QUICKLY WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TOW PIN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
