RUDDER POSITION INDICATING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the operational test and one task for the adjustment of the rudder position indicating system. The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The operational test of the rudder position indicating system
(2)
The installation of the rig pin R-4 and the rig pin M520392-4C at the position transmitter
(3)
The adjustment of the rudder position transmitter.
B.
The adjustment is the same for the upper or the lower rudder position transmitter.
C.
AIRPLANES WITH IDS SOFTWARE 685-2265-005 (PW), OR 995-0017-003 (GE), OR 995-0054-002 (RR); The rudder position indicators on the EICAS status page cannot move all the way to the full scale marks when the rudders are at the full left or right travel.

Make sure the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel are in NORM.

WARNING: MOVE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE FLIGHT CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS. THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Do this task: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).
