 (b)  Make sure the rudder trim indicator shows zero. 1) If it does not show zero, adjust the rudder trim indicator.

 (7)  
Do these steps to adjust the rudder trim indicator (Fig. 504).

 (a)
Remove the rudder trim indicator from the control stand.

 (b)
Turn the adjustment screw on the bottom of the rudder trim indicator until the rudder trim indicator shows zero.

 (c)  
Install the rudder trim indicator in the control stand.

 (8)  
Make sure the clearance between the rudder trim knob and the lightplate (of the aileron and rudder trim module) is between a minimum of 0.02 inches to a maximum of 0.05 inches.

 (9)  
Do procedure 1 or procedure 2 to extend the servo units for the rudder ratio changers (AMM 27-21-12/501).

 (a)  
Procedure 1 (airplanes with two SRM's P/N 285U0015-108 or later), see the rudder ratio extend test, paragraph 4.H.(13) (AMM 27-21-00/501).

 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE FLAPS ARE RETRACTED. IF THE FLAPS ARE NOT RETRACTED, THEY CAN MOVE WHEN YOU PRESSURIZE THE PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

 (b)  
Procedure 2 (airplanes with any combination of SRM part numbers installed), supply a 3.37-3.52 psig pressure (363-371 knots) to the pitot port of the top right and the top left pitot probes (AMM 34-11-00/201). 1) If the lower rudder moved more than 0.06 inch, adjust the


 input rod for the rudder ratio changer. Adjust the input rod until the rudder moves less than 0.06 inch.

 (10) Do these steps to adjust the input rod for the rudder ratio changer of the lower rudder (Fig. 504, and 505).
 (a)  Install rig pin R-4 in the feel, centering, and trim mechanism.
 (b)  Make sure rig pin E-1 is installed (Fig. 501).
 (c)  If the rudder moved in a right direction when you extended
 rudder ratio servos, make the input rod shorter.  If the rudder
 moved in a left direction when you extended the rudder ratio
 servos, make the input rod longer.
 (d)  Large adjustment:
 1)  Loosen the clamp bolt on the input rod.
 NOTE:____ This is at the rudder ratio changer end of the input
 rod.
