 CAUTION:_______INSTALL A NEW WASHER (12) AT ALL FOUR BOLTS (11). IF YOU TIGHTEN A BOLT AND THEN LOOSEN IT, YOU MUST REPLACE THE WASHER. THE TORQUE ON THE BOLTS CAN BE INCORRECT IF YOU INSTALL USED WASHERS.

 (d)  
Install the new torque indication washers (12) with the countersink to the head of the bolt (11).

 (e)  
Install the four bolts (11).

 (f)  
Tighten the bolts (11) until you cannot turn the center of the torque indication washers (12) by hand.

 (g)  
Remove the caps from the hydraulic ports.

 (h)  
Put the rod end of the lower actuator (7) in its position in the upper rudder attachment fitting (42).

 (i)  
Make sure that the bushing (45) is installed in the attachment fitting.

 (j)  
Install the bolt (40) and washer (41) in the rod end.

 (k)  
Install the washer (43) and the nut (44) on the bolt (40).

 (l)  
Tighten the nut (44) to 800-1000 pound-inches more than the run-on torque.

Fill the bolt holes in the trunnion (8) forward of the bolts (11) with sealant.

Connect the hydraulic lines H5 and H6 to the lower actuator (7):

 (a)  
Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines.

 (b)  
Apply a layer of the hydraulic fluid or assembly lube to the hydraulic fittings.

 (c)  
Connect the hydraulic lines H5 and H6.

 (7)  
Do the task to put the airplane back to its usual condition.

Remove the holding clamp from the trailing edge of the upper and lower rudder.

 (2)  
Remove the lock and release the left rudder pedal.

 (3)  
Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
