Install the Rudder Trim Actuator

Examine the actuator connection points for worn parts.

Install the rudder trim actuator (2).
(a)
Align the rudder trim actuator (2) with the airplane structure and the feel, centering, and trim mechanism (5).
(b)
Install the bolt assembly (15), washer (16), large nut (17), washer (18), and small nut (19) at the feel, centering, and trim mechanism.
(c)
Install the bolt assembly (10), bushing (11), large nut (12), washer (13), and small nut (14) at the top connection hole.
(d)
Tighten the large nuts for the two bolt assemblies.
(e)
Tighten the small nuts for the two bolt assemblies.
NOTE: Do not turn the large nuts when you do this step.

Install the bonding jumper (4).
(a)
Clean the mating surfaces (AMM 20-11-14/701).
(b)
Use a bonding meter to make sure the surface resistance is less than 0.003 ohms (Ref WDM 20-20-00 in the Standard Wiring Practice Manual).
(c)
Install the bolt (6), washer (9), washer (7), bonding jumper (4), washer (9), and nut (8).
(d)
Apply sealant at the bonding jumper ends.
(4)
Connect the electrical connector, DM7878, to the trim actuator.
(5)
Remove rig pin R-4.
