Make sure the rod ends engage the control rod correctly: 1) Make sure you can see the threads of the rod ends through
the inspection holes in the rod. 2) Make sure you see less than ten threads past the checknuts.

D. Operational Test of the Upper Rudder PCA

(1)
Do the test of the upper rudder upper actuator:
(a)
Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - TAIL switch No. 3 on the P461 Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel in the SHUTOFF position.
(b)
Push the captain's left rudder pedal fully forward and hold it.
(c)
Make sure the EICAS status page shows that the upper rudder is at the left limit of the travel.
