Install the rig pin, E-2, in the aft torque tube for the elevator.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DRILL THE SHEAR PIN. THE DRILL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BUSHINGS IN THE TRUNNION CRANK OR THE BEARINGS IN THE ROD END.

Drill the shear pin (24) to remove it from the trunnion crank.

Examine the rod end and the trunnion crank for worn parts.

Install a new shear pin (24):
(a)
Put the rod end in the crank.
(b)
Make sure the grease fitting points down.
(c)
Install the shear pin with the manufactured head on the outer end of the trunnion crank.
(d)
Put the washer on the small end of the shear pin.
(e)
Rivet the shear pin.

Use a 0.062 +0.003/-0.000-inch diameter drill to repair the inspection hole in the shear pin.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
