AILERON POSITION INDICATING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the operational test and one task for the adjustment of the aileron position indicating system. The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The operational test of the aileron position indicating system
(2)
The adjustment of the aileron position transmitter.
B.
AIRPLANES WITH IDS SOFTWARE 685-2265-005 (PW), OR 995-0017-003 (GE), OR 995-0054-002 (RR); The aileron position indicators on the EICAS status page cannot move all the way to the full scale marks when the ailerons are at the full up or down travel.

(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).
S 865-004
(2)
Set all FLT CONTROL HYD POWER WING switches on the P461 Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel to NORM.
S 865-005
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Do this task: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Make sure the aileron trim is in the center and the control wheels are in the neutral position.

Make sure the EICAS status page shows the inboard ailerons are approximately at the middle mark and the outboard ailerons are a small distance lower.
S 715-008
(6)
Do this test of the aileron position indicating system:
(a)
Turn the control wheels clockwise to the stop.
(b)
Make sure the left aileron position pointers move down to or below the lower scale mark.
(c)
Make sure the right aileron position pointers move up to or above the higher scale mark.
