Tighten the locknut for the rod end.
(h)
Connect the pushrod to the pedal arm.
(i)
Remove rig pins R-1, R-2, and R-3.

(3)
Do these steps to find if the rudder forward quadrants are adjusted correctly.
(a)
Install rig pin R-4 in the feel, centering, and trim mechanism (Fig. 502).
(b)
Make sure rig pin R-3 goes freely in the forward quadrant. If it does not, adjust cables RA and RB (Fig. 501).
S 735-131
(4)
Do these steps to make sure the tension in cables RA and RB is correct.
(a)
Use a cable tensiometer to make sure the cables have the tension shown in figure 503. 1) If the cable tension is more than 15 pounds different from
the specified tension in figure 503, adjust the cables RA and RB.
S 835-034
(5)
Do these steps to adjust cables RA and RB (Fig. 501, and 502)
(a)
Make sure rig pin R-4 is in the feel, centering, and trim mechanism.
(b)
If you installed new cables, RA and RB, then do these steps: 1) Install rig pin R-3 in the forward quadrant. 2) Adjust the two turnbuckles, at the same time, until cables
RA and RB have a tension of 230-270 pounds. 3) Remove rig pins R-3 and R-4. 4) Move the rudder pedals through 25 cycles. 5) Install rig pin R-4 in the feel, centering, and trim
mechanism.
(c)
Adjust the turnbuckles for cables RA and RB until you get these results: 1) Rig pin R-3 fits freely in the forward quadrant. 2) Cables RA and RB have the tension shown in Figure 503.
(d)
Remove rig pins R-3 and R-4.
(e)
Move the rudder pedals through one cycle.
(f)
Make sure the tension in the cables is correct (Fig. 503).
(g)
Apply a thin layer of corrosion preventive compound to the threads of the turnbuckles.
(h)
Install the clip locks on all of the turnbuckles.
S 735-132
(6)
Do these steps to make sure the rudder trim is adjusted correctly (Fig. 504).
(a)
Install rig pin R-4 in the feel, centering, and trim mechanism.
