Find the switches for the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER on the pilot's overhead maintenance panel, P461.

Set the TAIL switch for the applicable system in the SHUTOFF position. 1) Make sure the motor for the shutoff valve operates smoothly
and stops when the valve gets to the closed position. 2) Make sure the manual indicator lever on the shutoff valve is in the valve closed position. 3) Make sure the VALVE CLOSED light for the switch comes on.

Move the rudder pedals and the control column through their full travel in each direction.

TIRES ARE NOT PARALLEL WITH THE AIRPLANE, THEY CAN TURN QUICKLY
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TOW PIN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS
AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

RUDDER AND ELEVATOR HYDRAULIC SHUTOFF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are four shutoff valves for the rudder and elevator systems. This procedure gives the instructions to remove and install these four shutoff valves.
B. The removal task has these basic steps:
-Prepare for the removal
-Get access to the 48 section
-
Remove the shutoff valve.
C.
The installation task has these basic steps:
-Install the shutoff valve
-Do a test of the shutoff valve
-Put the airplane back to its usual condition.
