WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE DOOR
_______ OPERATION AREA. A FAILURE OF THE LIFT MECHANISM CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO CLOSE QUICKLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Open the cargo compartment door (Ref 52-34-00/001).

Install the safety barrier in the open doorway if it is necessary.

Push the caution light on the cargo control panel to make the light flash.
F. Install the Guide Rail Rod Assembly.

(1) If you will install one of the small preset rods (the rod that installs between the crank and the lateral guide that is above the actuator), then adjust the rod to a length (center-to-center) of
6.20 |0.01 inches (Dimension B, Fig. 401).

(2) For all of the rod assemblies you will install, do these steps:
(a)
Lubricate the outer diameter of the push-fit bushings with grease.
(b)
Install the bolts, the washers, the bushings, and the nuts to attach the ends of the rod assembly to the crank arm linkages.
G. Do a Check of the Operation of the Linkage Rod Assembly.

(1) For the applicable lateral guide rail actuator, remove the
DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P86 Forward Lower Cargo Equipment Panel
1) BAY 2 RIGHT PDU
2) BAY 2 LEFT PDU
3) LATERAL GUIDE FWD
4) LATERAL GUIDE AFT

(2) Do the steps that follow to extend and retract the guide rails through approximately 5 cycles:
(a)
Move the power drive switch to the FWD or the AFT DRIVES position.
(b)
Extend the guide rails: 1) Move the lateral guide switch to the NORMAL position. 2) Move the joystick to the IN or the OUT position.
(c)
Retract the guide rails:
1) Move the lateral guide switch to the RETRACT FWD or the RETRACT BOTH position.

Move the power drive switch to the OFF position.

For the guide rail that is on the rod assembly which was replaced, make sure the guide rail is at the dimension shown on Figure 401 (Dimension A).
NOTE: Dimension A is the distance between the top flat surface
____ of the guide rail and the top edge of the guide rail support.

(5) If the guide rail is not at the correct dimension, then do these steps to adjust the rod assemblies:
(a) For the applicable lateral guide rail actuator, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: 1) P86 Forward Lower Cargo Equipment Panel
a) BAY 2 RIGHT PDU
b) BAY 2 LEFT PDU
c) LATERAL GUIDE FWD
d) LATERAL GUIDE AFT
