(1)
Clean the surface of the cargo lining with a cheesecloth or wiper that is moist with the solvent.

Use the abrasive paper or the steel wool pad to lightly rub the surface of the cargo lining.
NOTE: The surface of the cargo lining must be rubbed until it is
____ not glossy. The white Tedlar surface on some of the cargo linings must be removed until you see the glass fabric laminations.

(3) Clean the surface of the cargo lining with a cheesecloth or wiper that is moist with the solvent.
NOTE: A clean surface is necessary for the tape to bond correctly

to the cargo lining.

(4) Install the tape on the top of the damaged area.
NOTE: The tape must extend equally around the damaged area by no

less than 2 inches.

(5) Make sure the tape bonds fully to the cargo lining.
NOTE:____There must be no air bubbles below the tape. The tape
must be flat on the surface of the cargo lining.

CARGO LINING SPLICE AREA (VISIBLE SIDE)
DO NOT RUB THROUGH THE TEDLAR LAYER OR
RUB THE GLASS FABRIC LAMINATION UNTIL IT IS THROUGH THE GLASS FABRIC LAMINATION WHICH IS NOT GLOSSY, OR IF IT IS APPLICABLE, RUB ADJACENT TO OR ON THE SURFACE OF THE PATCH. THROUGH THE TEDLAR LAYER TO MAKE A BETTER
BOND SURFACE FOR THE PATCH OR DOUBLER.
REMOVE THE SHARP CORNERS OF THE PATCH TO MAKE A SMOOTH SURFACE BETWEEN PATCH-
THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PLUG PATCH AND ADHESIVE-REPAIR AREA. THE CARGO LINING SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN 0.03-INCH.

4. Rigid Cargo Lining Permanent Repairs (Fig. 801)____________________________________
A. General
(1)
This procedure gives the instructions to permanently repair the rigid cargo linings. This procedure uses a patch or doubler, and adhesives to repair the cargo lining. The patch or doubler must be made from the same material (Class, Grade, and Type) as the cargo lining. The procedure has these parts:
