Connect the voltmeter to the output terminals of the DC power supply.
(c)
Move the switch on the DC power supply to the ON position.
(d)
Adjust the output to 10.7 volts dc.
(e)
Move the switch on the DC power supply to the OFF position.

(3) Prepare for the test.
(a)
Attach the radiation indicator to the antenna end of the ELT.
(b)
Put the ELT in a horizontal position.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE POLARITY IS CORRECT TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO

EQUIPMENT.
(c)
Connect the output terminals of the DC power supply to the ELT. 1) Connect the positive terminal to the blue test point. 2) Connect the negative terminal to the black test point.
(d)
Adjust the squelch and the volume on the communication receiver until background noise is heard clearly.

(4) Do the test of the ELT.
NOTE:____Do the test fast. Although the antenna is disconnected, a weak emergency signal is transmitted.

Tune the communication receiver to 121.5 MHz. 1) Move the switch on the DC power supply to the ON position. a) Make sure the 121.5 and 243.0 MHz lamps come on moderately. b) Make sure you hear the emergency signal from the
communication receiver. 2) Move the switch on the DC power supply to the OFF position.

Tune the communications receiver to 243.0 MHz. 1) Move the switch on the DC power supply to the ON position.

Hold the transmitter in the inverted position, push the battery cover in and turn it until the open slots are aligned with the tabs on the battery casing.

Remove the battery cover and the battery cushion.

Remove the sleeving from the battery lead connectors.

Remove the solder from the sheath connectors and disconnect the battery leads.

Remove the battery; pull it carefully out of the battery casing.
