NOTE:____Discard the shims which you do not use. Make sure you install the shim that has the countersunk holes adjacent to the door latch fitting. Install shorter bolts if it is necessary, or add washers to make allowance for the length of the bolt.

(7) Adjust the sill support fitting until you get a horizontal clearance of 0.05-0.10 inch at the locations shown in Fig. 401.
(a)
Loosen the eight fasteners which attach the sill support fitting to the channel assembly on the outboard sill.
(b)
Move the sill support fitting forward or aft until the horizontal clearance is 0.05-0.10 inch.
(c)
Tighten the eight fasteners to 130-180 inch-pounds.

Measure the vertical clearance between the sill support fitting and the door latch pin at the locations shown in Fig. 401.

NOTE: A minimum of one sill support fitting must have a vertical
____ clearance of 0.000 inch. Discard the shims which you do not use. Make sure you install the thickest shim adjacent to the door latch pin. Install shorter screws if it is necessary. Make sure the shims align with the door latch pin.
