BULK COMPARTMENT INSULATION - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the insulation blankets from the bulk cargo compartment.
(2)
The installation of the insulation blankets.
B. The insulation blankets attach to the airplane structure with clips, stud fasteners, velcro tape, and double-back tape. Dacron cord is used in the bottom of the lower lobe to support the insulation blankets above the fuselage skin. The instructions in this procedure are given for an example insulation blanket.

Open the bulk cargo door (Ref 52-36-00/001).

Remove the cargo restraint nets and compartment divider net if it is necessary (Ref 25-55-01/401).

Remove the sidewall linings to get access to the insulation blankets behind the linings (Ref 25-55-02/401).
S 014-003
(4)
Remove the floor panels to get access to the insulation blankets under the bulk compartment floor.
