(3) S 143-008Use a clean cheesecloth or a vacuum cleaner to remove the loose unwanted materials and the solvent from the restraints.
(4) S 643-018Lubricate the surfaces of the retractable components on the restraints with the oil.
(5) S 713-019Operate the retractable components on the restraints until they move freely.
(6) S 143-020Remove the unwanted oil from the restraints with a cheesecloth.

SEMIAUTOMATIC DOORSILL RESTRAINTS - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure has one task. This task gives instructions to retract the restraint lips on the semiautomatic doorsill restraints which have a damaged restraint release-lever. The doorsill restraints have a vertical restraint lip and a horizontal restraint lip. The procedure to retract the restraint lips is shown in Fig. 201.

(1) Screwdriver
B. Access
(1) Location Zone 122 Forward Cargo Container Compartment Forward Half, Right 142 Aft Cargo Container Compartment, Right
C. Procedure
S 032-002
(1) Retract the vertical restraint lip:
(a)
Hold the vertical restraint lip as shown in Fig. 201.
(b)
Push down on the two pawls as shown in Fig. 201 to release the vertical restraint lip.
(c)
Lower the vertical restraint lip.
S 032-003
(2) Retract the horizontal restraint lip:
(a)
Pull outboard on the toggle linkage as shown in Fig. 201.
(b)
Push down on the horizontal restraint lip.
(c)
Hold the horizontal restraint lip down.
(d)
Install a screwdriver as shown in Fig. 201 to keep the horizontal restraint lip down.

LIP RELEASE-LEVER
DOORSILL ROLLER (REF)
1.
HOLD THE VERTICAL RESTRAINT LIP.
2.
PUSH DOWN ON THE TWO PAWLS.
PAWL (ONE ON 3. LOWER THE VERTICAL RESTRAINT LIP. EACH SIDE)
TOGGLE
LINKAGE
SEMIAUTOMATIC DOORSILL RESTRAINT
(EXAMPLE)
STEP 1 RETRACT THE VERTICAL RESTRAINT LIP
1.
PULL OUTBOARD ON THE TOGGLE LINKAGE.
2.
PUSH DOWN ON THE HORIZONTAL RESTRAINT LIP.
3.
HOLD THE HORIZONTAL RESTRAINT LIP DOWN.
4.
INSTALL A SCREWDRIVER AS SHOWN TO KEEP THE HORIZONTAL RESTRAINT LIP DOWN.
