Semi-automatic Doorsill Restraint
(a)
To retract vertical restraint hook, press release pedal until pawl disengages and allows hook to withdraw under spring pressure.
(b)
To retract horizontal knockdown guide for unloading, press release pedal all the way down until latching cam engages to lock guide in down position.
(c)
To extend knockdown guide only, press guide down manually, or step on guide, until cam releases. Allow guide to spring up to extended position.
(d)
To extend vertical restraint hook, lift hook manually until latch pawl engages.
(3)
Retractable Doorway Center Guide (without rollers)
(a)
To retract guide, lift locking lever to disengage from detent in base. Allow guide restraint hooks to retract under spring pressure.
(b)
To extend guide, lift restraint hooks manually until locking lever engages detent in base.
(4)
Retractable Doorway Center Guide (with rollers)
(a)
To retract guide arm, raise release pedal on side to be retracted and allow arm to retract.
(b)
To extend guide arm, lift arm manually until lock engages.
(5)
Retractable Splitter Rail
(a)
To extend rail, lift shoe manually until locking trigger engages to lock rail in extended position.
(b)
To retract rail, press release pedal and allow shoe to return to retracted position.
(6)
Retractable Pallet Lock
(a)
To retract lock head, press pawl at base of lock head to disengage pawl from detent and lower head to retracted position in base.
(b)
To extend lock head, lift head manually until pawl on lock head engages in detent.
(7)
Retractable Container Stop
(a)
Retract the container stop.
1) Push the restraint lip away from the latch and lift the latch clear of the lip. Let the restraint lip retract then lower the latch onto the lip.
(b)
Extend the container stop.
1) Lift up the restraint lip until the latch locks the restraint lip in the extended position.

CONTAINERIZED CARGO RESTRAINING SYSTEM - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. There is one task given in this procedure. The task is a visual inspection/check of the cargo restraint system installed in the forward and aft cargo compartments.
B. The task consists of two subtasks. The first subtask examines the cargo restraints for damage or defects caused by corrosion, impact, and wear. The second subtask is an operation check for the cargo restraints with manually retractable components.
C. The cargo restraint system consists of these components given below:
