MAIN DECK CARGO BARRIER NETS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the cargo barrier net.
(2)
A removal of the cargo barrier strap.
(3)
An installation of the cargo barrier net.
(4)
An installation of the cargo barrier strap.
B. The cargo barrier net is at station 720 and is above the ceiling panels.
C. The function of the cargo barrier net is to give protection to the occupants in the upper deck from cargo loads over ten feet high.
D. The cargo barrier strap is at station 770.
E. The function of the cargo barrier strap is to stop any pallet or container higher than 8 feet from going forward.

2. Cargo Barrier Net Removal (Fig. 401)_________________________
A. Access
(1) Location Zones
231 Main Deck Body Sta 488 to 854, Left
232 Main Deck Body Sta 488 to 854, Right
B. Procedure

(1)
Remove the contoured ceiling panel to get access to the net.
(2)
Remove the sidewall panels.

(3)
Release the tie-back straps on the left and right sides to release the tension of the cargo barrier net.
(4)
Remove the bolts that attach the straps to the floor beam fittings.

Remove the bolts that attach the straps to the side attachment fittings.

Remove the bolts that attach the straps to the upper support attachment fittings.

Remove the net.

Remove the quick-release pins that attach the straps to the upper supports.

Remove the bolts that attach the straps to the side supports.

Remove the strap.
