4. Sill Assembly Inspection/Check (Fig. 401)______________________________
A. General
(1) This task gives instructions to measure the clearance between the sill support fittings and the door latch fittings. The sill support fittings are on the bottom of the two outboard sills. There are five sill support fittings on each outboard sill. The door latch fittings are on the structure below the outboard sills.

_______ DOOR. INSTALL THE PERSONNEL SAFETY NET ACROSS THE OPENING OF THE DOOR WHEN AN ACCESS STAND OR A PLATFORM IS NOT AT THE DOOR OPENING. THE MAIN DECK COMPARTMENT IS 16 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR IF THEY FALL THROUGH THE OPENING OF THE DOOR.
(3) Install the personnel safety net across the door opening if it is necessary.

(4) Move the two outboard sills to the open position (not folded).
E. Do an Inspection/Check of the Sill Assembly

(1) Measure the horizontal clearance between the sill support fitting and the door latch fitting at the locations shown in Fig. 401.
NOTE: The horizontal clearance must be 0.05-0.10 inch.
