Hold the flapper valve open with the tool until the slide is completely deflated.

Remove the old stored gas bottle as follows:
(a)
Disconnect the hoses from the bottle.
(b)
Remove the retainer pins and move the support sections away from the bottle.
(c)
Disconnect the lanyard from the trigger mechanism and attach the lanyard to the bottle.

(d) Remove the safety pin from the stowage container on the bottle support and install it in the bottle regulator.
NOTE: A firing lanyard and safety pin will be installed in

the replacement stored gas bottle.

Pull the inflation mechanism cables to put the bellcrank in the normal position.

Install the new stored gas bottle as follows:
(a)
Put the bottle in the support and connect the gas supply hoses.
(b)
Remove the safety pin and put it in the container on the support.
(c)
Close the supports and install the retainer pins.
(d)
Connect the lanyard to the retainer of the trigger mechanism.

(11) Install the new escape slide pack.
(a)
Put the escape slide pack on the platform but not in the chute.
(b)
Install the girt bar through the escape slide girt.
(c)
Lift the escape slide and push it completely into the chute.
(d)
Make sure the pivot pins are in the receptacles on the chute.
(e)
Connect the chute extension panel to the top of the packboard.
WARNING: FAILURE TO ENSURE THAT THE RING AND TERMINAL FITTING ON
_______ THE END OF THE PACKBOARD SEPARATION LANYARD ARE CORRECTLY LOCATED COULD LEAD TO THE SLIDE BECOMING UNUSABLE ON INFLATION.
(f)
Check that the ring at the end of the packboard separation lanyard is inserted into its stowage clip and that the lanyard terminal fitting is at the top of the ring (Fig. 201).
(g)
Install the lanyard on the bottle. 1) Put the lanyard across the top of the escape slide pack. 2) Remove the outer locking nut at each end of the lanyard. 3) Put the ends of the lanyard through the mounting brackets
and tighten the locking nuts finger-tight. 4) Assemble the jamnut and end fittings on each end of the
lanyard. 5) See that the threads are visible in the inspection holes. 6) Attach the ends of the lanyard to the appropriate trigger
mechanism. 7) Tighten the jamnuts 25 to 35 pound-inches. 8) On the bottom mounting bracket, put the locking nuts in the
center of the threaded portion of the conduit and tighten them from 100-150 pound-inches. 9) Make sure the pivot pin is in the end of the slot (the most loose position) on the lanyard.

10) See that the release handle and the packboard hinges are retracted. 11) Adjust the locking nuts at the top mounting bracket to remove the slack at the trigger crank. 12) Tighten the locknuts from 100 to 150 pound-inches and install the lockwire.
(h)
See that the pawl locks that retain the packboard are engaged.
(i)
Install release lanyards for the slide pack cover. 1) Remove the ends of the lanyards from the stowage pouches. 2) Insert the ends of the lanyards in the brackets. and
insert the cotter pins.
3) Put any extra lanyard in the pouches.
