 RETRACTABLE CENTER GUIDE/RESTRAINTS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks. The first task gives instructions to remove the retractable center guide/restraints. The second task gives instructions to install the center guide/restraints. This procedure also gives instructions to remove and install these components from the center guide/restraints: the push-down fittings, the casters, and the rollers.
 NOTE: The center guide/restraints in the area of the side cargo door do
____
 not have casters or rollers.

 2.  Retractable Center Guide/Restraints Removal (Fig. 401)

 A.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 210 Main Deck

 B.  Remove the Center Guide/Restraints
 S 034-034
 (1)  Lift and turn (horizontally) the shear-plunger levers to retract the shear-plunger studs from the holes in the seat tracks.
 NOTE: The shear-plunger levers must stay locked in the up position.

Move each tension bar forward or aft to align the tension bar studs with the holes in the seat tracks.

Remove the center guide/restraint.

 C.  Remove the Push-Down Fittings

 (1)  For the center guide/restraints with casters or rollers, do these steps:
 (a)  Push the release-lever on the side of the beam assembly to extend the push-down fitting.

 (b)  
Remove the screws and washers which attach the shaft to each side of the beam assembly.

 (c)  
Remove the shaft and the spring from the push-down fitting and the beam assembly.

 (d)  
Remove the push-down fitting.

 (2)  For the center guide/restraints without casters or rollers, do these steps:
 (a)  
Push the release-lever on the side of the beam assembly to extend the push-down fitting.

 (b)  
Remove the nut, washer, bolt, and spacers which attach the push-down fitting to the beam assembly.

 (c)  
Lift the handle below the push-down fitting to retract the pins from each side of the beam assembly.

 (d)  
Remove the push-down fitting.
