(3) Make sure the chute installation is satisfactory.
(a)
See that the chute is securely latched to the door sill when the chute is deployed.
(b)
See that the chute clears the door when the chute is in the stowed position.

(4) Do these steps if it is necessary to make the chute installation satisfactory:
(a)
Remove the split washer from the cable.
(b)
Move the cable to an adjacent hole.
(c)
Install the split washer.

(5) Put the escape slide and chute back to their usual condition.
(a)
Connect the lanyards that release the slide.
(b)
Install the stored gas bottle (AMM 25-68-04/201).
(c)
Make sure all the lock nuts are tight and have safety wire.

4. System Test - Floor-Mounted Escape Slide

A. General
(1)
This test is a check of the operation of the floor-mounted escape slide.
(2)
A complete operational test (above) discharges the stored gas bottle and inflates the escape slide. This test uses a simulated stored gas bottle and does not inflate the escape slide.

Remove the stored gas bottle (AMM 25-68-04/201).

Install the simulator or another stored gas bottle with no pressure.
NOTE: This tool applies a force of 10 to 25 pounds through the
____ mechanism that actuates the bottle. If you use an expended gas bottle, you must also have a method to indicate the length of the cable travel.

(3) Disconnect the lanyards that release the slide and attach them to the pack cover.
NOTE: This is so the slide will not deploy accidentally.

See that the upper deck door is closed.

Use the spring scale to measure the force that is necessary to move the escape slide assembly along the tracks to a position adjacent to the upper deck door.
(a) See that the force is not more than 55 pounds.
