 B.  Procedure
 S 216-002
 (1)  
Make sure the cargo barrier net and the cargo barrier strap are not loose.

 S 726-008

 (2)  
Do the Pull Test:

 (a)  
Remove one test strap assembly from the barrier net.

 (b)  
Insert a 5/8 inch diameter rod through each end of the test strap.

 (c)  
Attach the grippers of the tensile test machine to the rod ends.

 


 NOTE: EACH ROD MUST BE SUPPORTED NO MORE THAN 2.25 INCHES
____ APART, WITH THE TEST STRAP LYING BETWEEN THE GRIPPERS.
 WARNING: TESTING PERSONNEL SHOULD NOT BE CLOSE TO THE TEST STRAP
_______ WHEN IT FAILS. SEVERE INJURY CAN OCCUR FROM THE FORCE RELEASE WHEN THE TEST STRAP TEARS OR BREAKS.
 (d)  Pull the test strap assembly until damage occurs (tearing, breaking, etc.)

 (e)  Use the following information for testing the test strap assembly: 1) Do the Pull Test each year. 2) The strap assembly must hold a minimum of 18,800 lbs. to
 pass the test.
 3)  If the first test strap assembly passes the above steps no additional testing is required until the next yearly test interval.

 (3)  Make sure there are no cuts or tears on the cargo barrier net and the cargo barrier strap.
 (a)  
Horizontal Strap Assemblies:

 1)  Replace a damaged horizontal strap assembly. Damaged thread is permitted in only one of the four stitching patterns on each strap assembly before replacement is necessary.

 (b)  
Vertical and Diagonal Strap Assemblies:


 1)  Damaged webbing material on a vertical or diagonal strap can be either replaced or repaired.

For the cargo barrier net, make sure all the straps are connected to the support fittings.

For the cargo barrier strap, make sure the straps are connected to the support fittings.

 MAIN DECK CARGO LININGS AND INSULATION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General
 A.  The main deck cargo compartment contains sidewall panels, detect panels, ceiling panels, dado panels, master control station panel, and aft pressure bulk head protective panels.
 B.  The panels are attached to the airplane structure to give protection to the structure, the insulation blankets, and any equipment that is behind the panels.
Main Deck Sidewall Panels (Fig. 1)

 A.  The main deck sidewall panel includes the upper sidewall panel, and the lower sidewall panel. The panel usually contains the cargo handling control reveal, the sidewall light reveal, the window reveal, and the air grille reveal.
 B.  The sidewall panels are attached with fasteners. The clearance between the panels are closed with the cover strips, which are also attached with fasteners. The bottom edge of the sidewall panels are closed with the cover plates.
Main Deck Dado Panels (Fig. 1)

 A.  The dado panels are below the sidewall panels on both the left and right sides. The dado panels are connected to the sidewall panels with fasteners.
 B. Sealant is used along the sides between the floor and the dado panels.Master Control Station Panel (Fig. 2)
