Prepare to operate the PDU from the master cargo control panel: 1) Push the SYSTEM POWER ON switch momentarily. 2) Push the ENTRY DRIVE UNITS-ON/OFF switch momentarily until
the ON indicator light comes on. 3) Push the ENTRY DRIVE UNITS-NORMAL/RETRACT switch momentarily until the NORMAL indicator light comes on.

Do these steps if the PDU drive-wheel is at the 0-degree longitudinal position: 1) Hold the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the OUT position. 2) Make sure the drive-wheel moves counterclockwise to the
90-degree lateral position.

3) Make sure the drive-wheel turns in the direction of the
side cargo door. 4) Hold the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the IN position. 5) Make sure the drive-wheel turns in the direction away from
the side cargo door. 6) Release the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the OFF position.
(d)
Do these steps if the PDU drive-wheel is at the 90-degree lateral position: 1) Hold the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the FWD position. 2) Make sure the drive-wheel moves clockwise to the 0-degree
longitudinal position. 3) Make sure the drive-wheel turns in the forward direction. 4) Hold the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the AFT position. 5) Make sure the drive-wheel turns in the aft direction. 6) Release the DRIVE CONTROL switch to the OFF position.
(e)
Push the ENTRY DRIVE UNITS-ON/OFF switch momentarily until the OFF indicator light comes on.
(f)
Push the SYSTEM POWER STOP switch momentarily.
(g)
Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
F. Install the Electrically Steerable PDUs
S 844-121
(1) Prepare to install the PDU:
(a)
Inflate the drive-wheel tire to a pressure of 125-130 psig.
(b)
Make sure the drive-wheel tire is 2.87-2.93 inches above the top surface of the PDU support plate. 1) Adjust the height of the drive-wheel tire if it is
necessary (AMM 25-57-00/501).
(c)
Make sure the cam is 1.31 (|0.01) inches below the bottom surface of the PDU support plate. 1) Adjust the height of the cam if it is necessary
(AMM 25-57-00/501).
(d)
Remove the cover from the PDU wheel well in the floor (if it is installed).
(e)
Remove the unwanted materials from the support fitting and the PDU wheel well.
(f)
Make sure the tabs of the bearing ring engage the slots in the support fitting and are not bent.
(g)
Make sure the cam follower levers are 1.13 (|0.01) inches below the top surface of the bearing ring.
NOTE: The cam follower levers are on the limit switch assembly
____ along the outer perimeter of the support fitting.
1) Adjust the height of the cam follower levers if it is necessary (Ref 25-57-00/501).

Connect the end fitting of the manual disengage cable to the drive-wheel actuator.
