(c) Tighten jamnut on each end against the barrel ends. No tension shall be applied to the power drive unit disengage connection when the disengage handle is in the down position and PDU disengage is within the dimensional limits for "engaged" position (detail B).

Lift disengage lever to disengaged (up) position and measure travel of disengaged cable end fitting in PDU. Check that travel is as specified in detail B.

If disengage cable travel at PDU is less than specified (detail B), adjust as follows:
(a)
Operate disengage lever down to engaged position.
(b)
Loosen stroke adjustment stop screw on disengage lever and move the stroke adjustment stop away from the hinged end of the handle.
(c)
Tighten stroke adjustment stop screw.
(d)
Again measure cable-end travel and re-adjust as necessary until the correct travel is attained.

(8) If disengage cable travel at PDU is greater than specified (detail B), adjust as follows:
(a)
Operate disengage lever down to engaged position.
(b)
Loosen stroke adjustment stop screw on disengage lever and move the stroke adjustment stop towards the hinged end of the handle.
(c)
Tighten stroke adjustment stop screw.
(d)
Again measure cable-end travel and re-adjust as necessary until correct travel is attained.

After prescribed disengage travel is accomplished, actuate handle to engage (down) position. Disengage fitting on the power drive unit must return to the "re-engaged" position shown (detail B).

If required, replace lockwire on micro-adjust fitting; secure jamnuts and end fittings to barrel to prevent loosening and loss of adjustment (detail C).

Lift the disengage lever to disengaged (up) position.

Check that force required to operate lever does not exceed 35 pounds.

Verify that lever remains in disengaged position.

Rotate wheel of applicable PDU by hand. Check that wheel rotates freely without binding or ratcheting through one revolution in each direction.

Operate disengage lever down to engaged position. Check that lever remains seated against lever stop screw.

Rotate wheel of applicable PDU by hand. Check that PDU is locked against hand rotation in either direction.
NOTE: A small rotation to engage clutch dogs is permissible.
