(3) Life vests
B. The escape slide/rafts when deployed and freed from the airplane are used as life rafts in the event of a sea ditching. For further information on upper deck floor-mounted escape slide/rafts refer to 25-68-00/001.
C. Life vests are provided in the upper deck passenger compartments for the flight crew and are stowed under each seat. Life vests are also provide in the flight compartment for each flight crewmember and are stowed behind each crew seat. Additional life vest stowage provisions are located throughout the airplane. For further information on life vests refer to 25-62-00/001.
4. Emergency Evacuation Signaling Equipment

A. The emergency evacuation signaling equipment installed throughout the airplane consist of the following:
(1) Emergency locator radio beacons
B. Refer to 25-63-00/001 for further information on emergency evacuation signaling equipment.
5. Loose or Detachable Emergency Equipment

A. The loose or detachable emergency equipment installed in the flight compartment consist of the following:
(1) Crash Axe
B. The loose or detachable emergency equipment installed throughout the upper deck compartments consist of the following:

First Aid Kit
(2)
Smoke hoods
(3)
Oxygen masks
C. For information on portable fire extinguishers and oxygen equipment installed in the upper deck passenger compartment and flight compartment refer to 26-26-00/001 and 35-31-00/001, respectively.
6. Smoke Evacuation Equipment (Fig. 2)

A. A smoke shutter is installed in the aft ceiling area of the flight compartment (Fig. 2). The smoke shutter allows for the evacuation of smoke from within the flight compartment to the outside of the airplane. A tee handle is installed between the P7 overhead circuit breaker panels to open and close the smoke shutter. A teleflex cable is installed between the tee handle and the shutter. Refer to 25-64-05/201, Flight Compartment Smoke Shutter, for inspection and adjustment instructions for the shutter.
