 (3)  S 348-028Apply a layer of the Type III adhesive around the edges of the repair surface.
 NOTE:____ The edges of the repair surface must be smooth after you apply the adhesive.
 (4)  S 118-029Remove the unwanted adhesives from the repair surface with a cheesecloth or wiper that is moist with the solvent.
 NOTE:____ The solvent must not flow in the bond area.
 (5)  S 118-030Clean the tools with the Toluene before the adhesives dry fully.
 NOTE:____ The Methylene Chloride can clean the tools if the adhesives dry fully on the tools.
 (6)  S 348-031Let the adhesives dry for one of these lengths of time which follow: (a) Let the adhesives dry for 24 hours at a temperature of 70°F (b) Let the adhesives dry for 15 minutes (minimum) at a temperature of 250°F (maximum).
 NOTE:____ A heat lamp (250-watt) can be used to apply heat to the repair surface to get the maximum temperature.
 (7)  S 348-032Remove the pressure of the clamps which you applied to the repair surface.
 NOTE:____ The adhesives must dry fully and the temperature of the repair surface be below 100°F before you remove the pressure.

 (8)  Use the abrasive paper to lightly remove the unwanted adhesives and to make the edges of the repair surface smooth.
 NOTE: You must be careful not to remove the white Tedlar surface

 5.  Flexible Cargo Lining Permanent Repairs_______________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This procedure gives the instructions to repair the flexible cargo linings. This procedure uses a patch and an adhesive to repair the cargo lining. The patch must be made from the same material as the cargo lining. A cargo lining with tears or holes must have a patch installed on each side of the damaged area. The procedure has these parts:

 (a)  
Prepare the cargo lining

 (b)  
Prepare the patch

 (c)  
Prepare the adhesive

 (d)  
Repair the cargo lining with the adhesive and the patch.

 

 (2)  
When the airplane is down for an overhaul, the cargo linings which have temporary repairs must be permanently repaired.

_______ SAFETY ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE NECESSARY PROCEDURES AND EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU USE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS. DO NOT GET THE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS. USE A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE, GLOVES, AND A RESPIRATOR (IN CONFINED AREAS) WHEN YOU USE THE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS. KEEP THE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS AWAY FROM ALL SOURCES OF IGNITION (HEAT, FLAME, AND SPARKS). THE ADHESIVES AND SOLVENTS YOU USE ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE CORRECT PROCEDURES AND EQUIPMENT, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
