EMERGENCY ESCAPE ROPES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The escape ropes are located at the main entry doors 1L and 5L. Cotton escape ropes are installed in stowage tubes. Kevlar escape ropes are installed in stowage bags. Both are mounted above the entry doorway overhead structure.
B. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the emergency escape rope assembly.
(2)
The installation of the emergency escape rope assembly.

2. Emergency Escape Rope Removal
_____________________________
A. General
(1) Perform a removal of the emergency escape rope assembly at these times:
(a)
At "D" level check intervals.
(b)
After you use it in a non emergency descent.
(c)
After you use it in an emergency descent situation.
(d)
If it is required during a maintenance inspection.

Access the overhead doorway structure.

Remove the bonding agent BAC5010 type 117, or type 70, which seals the guide to the overhead doorway structure.

AIRPLANES WITH STOWAGE TUBE; Remove the stowage tube from the entry doorway overhead structure.
