E. Procedure

(1)
Examine the worn parts and the fittings for the approved worn areas (AMM 32-14-03/601).
S 424-007
(2)
Install the safety bar.
(a)
Install the slide pad (13) on the shoe (12) if it was removed, with 4 bolts (8) and the washers (9).
NOTE: Use only new bolts and install the Lockwire on the
____
bolts.
(b)
Use the bushing (5), the washers (6 and 10), the bolt (7) and the nut (11) to connect the shoe (12) to the safety bar.
(c)
Put the slide end of the safety bar into the slide rails on the inboard door.
(d)
Install two hinge pins (4), the washers (3), and the cotter pins (2).
(e)
Apply a layer of grease on the safety bar (1) in the area where the tire touches during the alternate extension.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ DOOR LOCKS FROM THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

1. General_______
A. This procedure has one task:
(1)
The examination of the fit for the safety bar bearings, the bolt, the pad and the bushings.
B.
You must remove the safety bar to do the inspection.

(1)
Remove the safety bar (Ref 32-14-03/401).

(2)
Examine the worn limits of the safety bar bearings, the bolt, the pad and the bushing.
(a)
Measure the parts if it necessary and compare the measured dimensions to the limit demensions.
(b)
If the part is not in the tolerance, repair or replace if it is necessary.
(3)
Examine the moved areas of the safety bar for damage or worn areas.

(4)
Remove all collected rubber with solvent and lubricate the surface with grease (Ref 12-21-01/301).
(5)
Install the safety bar (Ref 32-14-03/401).
