WARNING:_______ DO NOT APPLY UNWANTED FORCE WITH THE JACKS. THIS
WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE YOKE, THE GLAND NUT AND THE
SEATING TOOL. IT ALSO CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
5) Carefully lift the truck.
6) Carefully push the assembled parts into the outer cylinder
(2) until the parts move into the outer cylinder (2). 7) During the jack, make sure it moves freely. 8) Make sure not too much force is applied to the seating tool
through the gland nut (9) and the yoke. 9) Decrease the jack pressure lightly and remove the gland seating tool. 10) Remove the split guide for the lower gland seal from the outer cylinder (2). 11) Move the scraper ring and the gland nut (9) up into the outer cylinder (2).

Remove the lower cam screw if it is there.

SPEAK WITH THE MANUFACTURER, FIRE, INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND SAFETY ORGANIZATIONS ON THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT, AND PROCEDURE FOR THIS MATERIAL. FLUSH THE MATERIAL FROM THE SKIN OR FROM THE EYES IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER. PROVIDE MEDICAL AID TO ANY PERSON WITH AN INJURY IMMEDIATELY.

Apply the corrosion inhibition material to the gland nut threads.
(q)
Use the wrench adapter to install the gland nut (9) on the outer cylinder (2).
(r)
Tighten the gland nut 2100 to 2400 pound-inches.
(s)
Loosen to align the nearest nut slot with the lock tab.
(t)
Measure the dimension B (Fig. 802).
(u)
Do a check that the dimension B is equal to (dimension A minus
7.495 inches within | 0.045 inches). 1) If the dimension B is more than the limit, disassemble the shock strut.
2) Do a check for the twisted seals or the clearance between the parts.
(v)
Install the lock tab for the lower gland nut and tighten with the bolt, the washer and the nut (Fig. 802).
(w)
Install the check valve (used as drain plug) with the lubricated 0-ring into the outer cylinder (2) and the lockwire.
(x)
Tighten the check valve 264 to 300 pound - inches.

Connect the higher and the lower torsion link if they are disconnected.
(z)
After the seal replacement, do a check for positive operation of the nose gear squat switches (AMM 32-09-03/501).

Put the airplane back to its usual condition.
