NOTE: Align the lockbolt hole.

(f) Move the lubrication insert (21) into the bolt (19) to make the pin assembly for the shock strut.
NOTE: Align the lockbolt hole.

F. Procedure

(1)
Install the drag strut universal (18).

Align the holes in the universal with the lugs of the lower drag strut (9) and the outer cylinder.
NOTE:____Set the universal with the actuator strut lugs up. And the universal points inboard.

Install the pin assembly of the shock strut which has the bolt (19), the lubrication insert (21) and the O-rings (20).
(a)
Install the pin assembly of the shock strut into the universal (18) and the outer cylinder lugs.
(b)
Install the washer (8) and the nut (7) and tighten the nut from 200 to 250 pound-feet.

(c) Loosen the nut and tighten again from 10 to 100 pound-feet.
NOTE: Align the castellation with the crossbolt hole.

(d) Install the lockbolt (6), the washer (5) and the nut (4) and tighten the nut.

Install the pin assembly of the drag strut which has the bolt (1), the O-rings (2) and the lubrication insert (3).
(a)
Lubricate all the threads, the washer, the bolt shanks and the bushing surfaces with grease immediately before the installation.
(b)
Put the pin assembly of the drag strut into the universal (18) and the lower drag strut (9).
NOTE: Use the thread protector on the bolt (1) during the
____
installation.
(c) Install the washer (14) and the nut (13) and tighten the nut from 10 to 15 pound-feet.
NOTE: Align the castellation with the crossbolt hole.
____
(d) Install the lockbolt (12), the washer (11) and the self-locking nut (10) and tighten the nut.

Connect the actuator strut (15) for the aft inboard door.
(a)
Align the door actuator strut and the fitting with the lug on the universal (18).
(b)
Install the spacers (17, 22), the bolt (16), the washer (23) and the nut (24).
(c)
Tighten the nut from 10 to 15 pound-feet.
NOTE: Loosen the nut, if it is necessary, to the nearest
____ castellation to permit the cotter pin installation (25).
(d)
Install the cotter pin.

Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

Remove the restraining sling from the drag strut.

Remove the restraining tool from the downlock bungee
(AMM 32-33-16/401).
(3)
Lubricate the pin assemblies of the drag strut (AMM 12-21-01/301).
