WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

(3) S 493-011Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).
(4) S 493-010Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Body Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).
(5) S 843-002Deflate the shock strut. (a) AIRPLANES WITH THE SHOCK STRUT PRESSURE GAGE; Remove the valve cap from the air valve on the pressure gage. (b) AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE SHOCK STRUT PRESSURE GAGE; Remove the valve cap from the air valve at the top of the shock strut.
WARNING:_______ DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE BODY UNTIL YOU DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT. THE INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE OUT. IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO THE PERSONS.
(c) Loosen the air valve nut two turns maximum and permit the weight of the airplane to compress the inner cylinder.
(6) S 843-004Drain the shock strut. (a) Remove the valve from the lower end of the outer cylinder and drain from that point (3 to 4 gallons). (b) Remove the assembly of the Green Band tube and the end fitting from the top end of the shock strut. (c) Install approximately 55 inches of plastic tubing into the port at top of the strut and drain (approximately 8 gallons).
NOTE:____ Cut the tube end at 45-60 degrees. It can help to put the tube through the top of the metering pin.
(7) S 863-005Do this task: "Nose Landing Gear Shock Strut Servicing (AMM 12-15-05/301).

NOSE LANDING GEAR SHOCK STRUT - REPAIRS

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the seal replacement instructions for a one piece configuration. This configuration has the lower bearing and the seal carrier as a one piece assembly.
B. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The replacement of the inner cylinder seals with the spare seals
(2)
The replacement of the inner cylinder seals and the spare seals.
