Remove the control panel of the nose wheel well (Fig. 401).
(a)
Disconnect the stirrup from the housing bracket of the runway light and the stirrup support bracket.
(b)
Remove the attaching clamps of the control panel from the lower tripod brace.
(c)
Remove the tie-rod from the lower tripod pin.
(d)
Attach the control panel to the shock strut.

Remove the bullnose deflector assembly from the upper tripod brace (AMM 32-21-07/401).

Remove the brace assembly of the lower tripod on the nose landing gear.

Remove the pin assembly of the lower tripod from the attach lug of the outer cylinder (Fig. 402).
(a)
Remove the pin lockbolt of the lower tripod.
(b)
Remove the special nut and the washer.
(c)
Hold the brace and pull out the pin assembly.

Remove the apex pin assembly of the tripod brace.
(a)
Remove the apex pin lockbolt.
(b)
Remove the special nut and the tang washer and install the pin thread protector.
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE DRAG STRUT ASSEMBLY AND THE UPPER
_______ TRIPOD BRACE BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE APEX PIN. THE UPPER TRIPOD BRACE WILL MOVE DOWN IF YOU DO NOT HOLD IT CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT
(c) Hold the upper and the lower tripod braces.
