3) Install the small end of the lever arm (Part 1) into the free end of the reversible extension assembly.
(d) Install the push and pull gage at the BLUE location on the lever arm (Part 1).

Measure the play.
(a)
Apply a 50 |10 pound force in a left hand or right hand direction to the push and pull gage.
(b)
Set the dial indicator to zero.
(c)
Apply the same force in the opposite direction to the push and pull gage.
(d)
Write the reading from the dial indicator.
(e)
Release the loading force.

If the torsional play is 0.19 inch or more, replace the torsion link bushings and the torsion link parts.

Replace the bushings in the inner clyinder and steering collar that connect to the torsion links.

Do a second play check and write the indication from the dial indicator.

If the torsional play stays more than 0.19 inch, replace the steering actuators or other components.

Remove the jack attached tool from the bottom of the nose gear axle.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO REMOVE THE
_______ DOOR LOCKS FROM THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(7) Remove the door locks for the nose landing gear if no more work on the airplane is necessary (AMM 32-00-30/201).
