 (3)  Remove pressure from hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4
 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST REMOVE THE WEIGHT OF THE AIRPLANE FROM THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, THE MAIN LANDING GEAR CAN TURN FORWARD ABOUT THE TRUNNION. IF THIS OCCURS, THE DRAG STRUT AND JURY STRUT WILL MOVE INBOARD. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR IF THE DRAG STRUT AND JURY STRUT MOVE INBOARD.
 (4)  
Lift the airplane on jacks until the tires are clear of the ground (AMM 07-11-01/201).

Procedure


 S 032-007
 (1)  
Remove the downlock bungee (AMM 32-33-16/401).

 S 492-008

 (2)  
Attach a sling to the lower drag strut (9) and hold it with a hoist.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HOLD ALL PARTS SUFFICIENTLY BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE
_______ PINS. THE JURY STRUT ASSEMBLY WITH THE ACTUATOR WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 45 POUNDS. THE UPPER DRAG STRUT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 120 POUNDS. THE LOWER DRAG STRUT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 77 POUNDS. IF YOU DO NOT HOLD THE PARTS SUFFICENTLY, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
 (3)  
Hold the jury strut assembly and the upper drag strut to the structure with a sling.

 S 032-010

 (4)  
Remove the bolt from the universal joint of the drag strut.

 (a)  
Remove the self-locking nut (13), the washer (14) and the lockbolt (15).

 (b)  Remove the nut (16), the washer (17) and the bolt (12) with the lubrication insert (10).

Remove the apex bolt from the drag strut.

 (a)  
Remove the self-locking nut (8), the washer (7) and the lockbolt (6).

 (b)  
Remove the nut (5), the washer (4), and the apex bolt (1) with the lubrication insert (2).
