BODY LANDING GEAR AXLE SLEEVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the axle sleeve from the axle for the body landing gear
(2)
The installation of the axle sleeve on the axle for the body landing gear.
B.
The axle sleeve and the brake housing bushing have an interference fit on the landing gear axle. It is necessary to use temperature differential procedures to remove or install these components.

2. Body Landing Gear Axle Sleeve Removal (Fig. 401)

A. General
(1)
The axle sleeve cannot be removed if the brake housing bushing is on the axle.
(2)
This task includes the steps to remove the brake housing bushing.
(3)
It is not necessary to remove the wheel truck to do this task.
