Set the lower tripod brace for the installation on the attach lug of the outer cylinder.
(c)
Insert the pin assembly of the lower tripod (Fig. 401).
(d)
Install the washer and the special nut. 1) Tighten the special nut 50 - 70 pound-feet lube torque. 2) If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest
castellation to align the lockbolt to when you install.
(e)
Install the lockbolt and the nut.
1) Tighten the nut on the lockbolt.
(f)
Apply a tamper-proof putty to the lockbolt nut until the movement of the nut will cause the seal to break.

Connect the upper and the lower tripod braces to the drag strut.
(a)
Lubricate the pin, the threads, the washer and the bushing surfaces with grease.
(b)
Install the thread protector for the apex pin on the apex pin assembly.
(c)
Attach the ends of the tripod braces with the end of the lower drag strut. 1) Install the apex pin assembly.
(d)
Remove the thread protector from the apex pin assembly.
(e)
Install the special tang washer and the special nut. 1) Tighten the special nut 90 - 100 pound-feet. 2) If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest
castellation to align the lockbolt when you install.
(f)
Install the lockbolt.
1) Tighten the lockbolt nut 12 - 15 pound-inches.

Lubricate the tripod braces and all the attach points at lube fittings (AMM 12-21-04/301).

Attach the bullnose deflector assembly to the upper tripod brace with a clamp (AMM 32-21-07/401).

Install the control panel of the nose wheel well.
(a)
Set the control panel for installation into the lower tripod brace.
(b)
Put the tierod into the mounting holes of the support bracket (which is on the control panel) and the brace pin of the lower tripod.

Attach the control panel to the tripod brace with a clamp.

Connect the stirrup between the housing bracket of the runway light and the stirrup support bracket.

Do this task: "Removal of the Door Locks from the Nose Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Remove the jacks from the airplane.

NOSE LANDING GEAR TRIPOD BRACE ASSEMBLY - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General

A. This procedure contains a task to examine the attach points of the tripod brace assembly on the nose landing gear. It will examine the worn parts of the bearing and the mating surfaces of the pins on the following three points:
(1)
The lower tripod brace that connects to the shock strut.
(2)
