 (b)  
Lubricate the inner surfaces of the gland seating tool.

 (c)  
Set the tool halves 180 degrees apart in the inner cylinder (13).

 (d)  
Use the jack to lift the inner cylinder (13) symmetrical until the gland nut (9) on the yoke touches the seating tool.

 WARNING:_______DO NOT APPLY UNWANTED FORCE WITH THE JACKS. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE YOKE, THE GLAND NUT AND THE SEATING TOOL. IT CAN ALSO CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

 (e)  
Carefully lift the inner cylinder (13).

 (f)  
Push the assembled parts into the outer cylinder (2) until the parts move into the outer cylinder (2).

 (g)  
During the jack, make sure that it moves freely.

 (h)  
Make sure not too much force is applied to the seating tool through the gland nut (9) and the yoke.


 NOTE: Resistance will increase from the seal friction
____ while the seal (6) moves into the seal guide tool. The resistance will decrease after the seal is through the guide.
 (i)  Remove the split guide and the cam screw from the outer cylinder (2) if they were there.

 (12) Install the gland nut (9).
 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET YOUR SKIN TOUCH THE MATERIAL. CORROSION INHIBITION MATERIAL CONTAINS FLAMMABLE AND POISONOUS MATERIALS. SPEAK WITH THE MANUFACTURER, FIRE, INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND SAFETY ORGANIZATIONS, ON THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT, AND PROCEDURE FOR THIS MATERIAL. FLUSH THE MATERIAL FROM THE SKIN OR FROM THE EYES IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER. PROVIDE MEDICAL AID TO ANY PERSON WITH AN INJURY IMMEDIATELY.
 (a)  
Apply the corrosion inhibition material to the gland nut threads.

 (b)  
Use the wrench adapter to install the gland nut (9) on the outer cylinder (2).

 (c)  
Tighten the nut 2100 to 2400 pound-inches.

 (d)  
Loosen the gland nut (9) to align the nearest nut slot with the lock tab.

 (e)  
Measure the dimension B (Fig. 802).

 (f)  Do a check that the dimension B is equal to (dimension A minus
 7.495 inches within | 0.045 inches). 1) If the dimension B is more than the limit, disassemble the shock strut.
 2)  Examine for the twisted seals or clearance between the parts.
 (g)  
Install the lock tab for the lower gland nut with the bolt, the washer and the nut.

 (h)  
Tighten the nut 65 to 90 pound-inches.

 Install the oil valve with the lubricated O-ring into the outer cylinder.

 Connect the lower drag strut to the tripod apex and remove the tripod support (AMM 32-21-01/401).

 Connect the actuator for the nose landing gear to the trunnion crank (AMM 32-34-01/401).

 Install the torsion link bolt.

 (a)  
Install the bolt to the bushing.

 (b)  
Tighten the bolt by hand.

 (c)  
Install the ball type pin with the quick-release function.

 H.  
Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

Lower the axle for the nose landing gear and remove the axle jack (AMM 07-11-03/201).

Rub the open part of the inner cylinder with hydraulic fluid specified on the shock strut nameplate.

 (3)  
Do the servicing of the shock strut (AMM 12-15-05/301).

Lower the nose of the airplane and do a check for the leaks at the gland nut (9).
