(d)  Put protective caps on the open ends of the electrical connectors.
 (3)  S 034-013-C00Disconnect the thrust lever angle (TLA) connector, D2876, at the Control Box (Fig. 402, Sheet 2): (a) Disconnect the TLA connector, D2876, on the lower outboard side of the MEC. (b) Disconnect the connector, D2876, from the forward side of the connector bracket on the MEC. (c) Put a protective cap on the open end of the electrical connector. (d) Remove the clamp that attaches the wire bundle to the MEC.
 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT REMOVE THE PLUG BRACKET FROM THE MEC. THE BRACKET IS ATTACHED WITH EPOXY-FILLED ALLEN SCREWS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MEC IF YOU TRY TO REMOVE THE SCREWS.
 (e)  Remove the two (non-epoxied) allen screws that attach the connector bracket (to the aft half of the connector, D2876) to the connector bracket plate on the MEC.
 (4)  S 034-014-C00Remove the fuel control box as follows (AMM 76-11-08/401): (a) Move the fuel control box and the throttle push-pull cables to the side.
 (5)  S 034-019-C00Attach the fuel control box and the throttle push-pull cables to the strut to keep them away from the engine.
 (6)  S 034-016-C00Disconnect the six screws, washers, clamps and nuts that attach the electrical cable to the MEC and the transfer gearbox (Fig. 402, Sheet 1):
 NOTE:____ Let the cable stay loosely in its position.

 (7)  Disconnect the two bolts, washers and nuts and the clampshell and clamp that attach the support tube to the MEC and the transfer gearbox (Fig. 402, Sheet 1).
 (a)  Remove the support tube.

 (8)  Disconnect the feedback cable for the variable bleed valve (VBV) as follows (Fig. 403):
 (a)  
Loosen the fillister head screw from the MEC feedback arm.

 (b)  
Remove the retainer clip from the MEC feedback arm.

 (c)  
Remove the pin to release the rod end bearing from the MEC feedback arm.


 CAUTION: YOU MUST RETRACT THE CABLE INNER MEMBER BEFORE YOU REMOVE
_______ THE SUPPORT TUBE ASSEMBLY. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE OPEN INNER MEMBER.
 (d)  
Move the cable inner member to the fully retracted position at the MEC end.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST THE FEEDBACK CABLE. USE TWO WRENCHES WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE NOSE CAP, ONE ON THE NOSE CAP, AND ONE ON THE CONDUIT CAP. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.

 (e)  
Loosen the nose cap.


 NOTE: Do not disconnect the nose cap and the conduit cap.

 (f)  Carefully move the conduit cap away from the MEC slotted bracket.

 (9)  Disconnect the feedback cable of the variable stator vane (VSV) as follows (Fig. 403):
 (a)  Remove the cotter pin from the rod end bearing.
